Wet weather events test every assumption baked into your design flows. The plant was sized for average conditions; a two-inch storm can triple influent flow within hours. The goal isn’t to treat peak flow perfectly — it’s to protect the biology long enough for conditions to return to normal without an overflow or a permit violation.
